This 2 Trapper T-Rex Rat Snap Traps Rodent Control Trap Trex Bell-1043 is a state of the art mechanical trap that gives a superior capture of your rat problems. A patented interlocking teeth system makes the rat trying to escape absolutely impossible. So you do not need to worry about losing the rodent once it has been trapped it stays trapped. The T-Rex gives you the perfect combination of a trigger sensitive and trap velocity, so the speed of the trap and the responsiveness ensure the capture is successful every time without fail. The trap is easy to set up and safe to use, much more efficient than traditional snap traps. The T-Rex can also be placed directly in a Protecta Rat Bait Station or even tied to any pipes or beams you have around the house, these are typical pathways that rats and mice will use to get around, and will not suspect a trap to be attached to. The bait cup in the centre of the trigger pedal holds onto the bait easily enticing your pest to the bait.
To avoid stolen bait, the bait cup is designed so that it can’t be reached without activating the extremely responsive trigger, this means that even the craftiest of rats can’t avoid springing the jaws!
If glue boards are used in rat control, then the Trapper Tunnel is recommended. The Trapper Tunnel is a piece of heavy cardboard that is shaped like a tunnel. The glue board is placed inside of the tunnel to help keep it protected from dust, dirt and falling objects.  This can help double or even triple the life of the glue board.

Thanks for the great idea. I have a glass with a coin and peanut butter set up right now. I got 2baby rats as pets that are still quite afraid and was cleaning their cage and put them in a huge box. Didn’t realize such a tiny baby could jump so high. Needless to say I have a baby rat loose in my suite. Hope the glass trap works. Will let you all know.

I had doubts when I bought this trap, but I gave it a shot anyway. I’m dealing with roof rats and wanted something that wasn’t going to make a huge mess up there. The only reason I don’t give this 5 stars is the price, which prevents me from wanting to buy several of them to clear out the roof rats faster.
After inspecting the rat infested areas, place the rat glue boards in those areas. Place the glue traps directly in their runways. Rats usually travel along baseboards and walls, since they use the walls for guidance. Place glue traps where there has been rodent activity.
Glue traps can lead to intense pain and discomfort if a pet or child accidentally steps on one. In rare cases, the glue trap can be life-threatening if it attaches to the area around the mouth and nose. To remove a glue trap, apply baby oil to the spot where it is stuck and pry it off with a spoon.[6]
Use your free hand to place the metal pin over the U-shaped bar. Lift the yellow trigger on the trap and insert the metal pin into the “S” side (for sensitive traps) or the “F” side (for firm). Experiment with different trigger settings; the “S” trigger setting will snap easier than the “F” trigger setting.
Place the trap where you have seen signs of rodent activity or along the wall where rodents primarily travel. The end of the trap where the yellow pedal is baited should be placed flush against the wall.
For instance, one of the most common ways for black rats to access roofs is by climbing trees and crawling across overhanging branches. If you have this problem, trim your branches back and don’t allow any tree or bush extensions to be within three feet of your walls or roof. Employ baited snap traps along the fences, trellises and tree branches of your property to further prevent these rodents from getting into your property. Use wire to secure traps to branches, rafters and roof pipes, if need be.
Convenient Bait Door for Effortless Bait Application With the built-in bait cup, you always know your trap is properly baited. Access the cup by opening the bait door located at the back of the trap. To get started, use a toothpick or cotton swab to apply a high protein bait such as peanut butter or hazelnut spread in the cup. Then place your trap in an area with high rodent activity and turn it on.
Once a rodent triggers the pedal, the rat trap immediately springs closed to eliminate the pest on contact. The rat trap can then be easily disposed of for quick and clean removal. These traps require no chemicals or poisons, so they are safe to use around food, water, children and pets when used as directed. Victor® Easy Set® Rat Traps are perfect for use anywhere in the home. These rat traps should be placed where rodents travel, such as along walls at 2 to 3 foot intervals.
Third, attach jumper cables to the metal plate at the back of the cage. The clips on the cables should just barely fit onto the edge of the mesh cage. Set the trapdoor loading the spring as directed on the product label. Place the electric cage rat trap diy in a rodent-infested area.

To increase your odds of catching the critters, place traps inside closets, as well as under any furniture — like sofas, chairs or even cabinets — sitting along the walls. A clever way to lure rats into traps is to cut a hole on each side of a shoebox and place it along a suspected rat path with a baited trap inside. The box piques the rats curiosity on what’s inside — and once they go in, they won’t be coming back out.

First, buy a small live trap. It looks like a wire cage with a loaded door that shuts behind a rat after it enters. In fact, the caught rodent stays alive. However, the aim of our homemade rat trap is to catch and kill at once. Batteries supply current and make it possible to design a rat killer from any commercially available cage.
This pulsing red light indicates that either the chamber has been tripped or there is a dead rodent.  98% of the time, a dead rodent is inside.  Simply pick up the entire unit and dispose of the rodent in a trash container or plastic bag and reset the trap.  The dead rodent does not have to be seen or touched.
Ammonia-soaked cotton balls or rags will drive mice and rats out (they hate the smell). Place them in areas where the animals, their droppings, or nests have been seen, and be sure to give them a few days to leave.

Melted, it has the consistency of latex paint, and solidifies quickly as it is poured on the cardboard squares I chose to use. It doesn’t lose it’s “stickiness”, and is way more economical than buying individual traps. However, I’m not going to pay $90+ per gallon. Hope this helps.
Manufacturers of glue boards don’t claim that they provide a quick death. In fact, they generally suggest that boards be thrown in the trash with live animals still stuck to the surface. As a result, animals continue to suffer, starved and exhausted for up to five days.
