Basically what prompted going this route was that my cat recently caught two in one day in the bushes of my yard – finally giving me the hard evidence of the rats out there. I called pest control and the rep quoted $350 for a 1 month monitoring with bait traps to capture – no poison, again for the reason stated above that they might go into walls / crawl space and die and smell terrible. Oh and no guarantee on catching anything. Seriously? $350 for *maybe* some success? I might as well spend $40 for *maybe* some success with my own trap and if it doesnt work, return it.
The Nooski Rat Trap is extremely effective at killing rats. It’s also extremely effective at causing anger and disgust at the way the rat dies.  It is however, a much cleaner and easier way of killing rats.  Like the Raticator, it uses a lure such as dog food or cat food.

When people look to methods to get rid of rodents, they often turn to an extermination company. These methods provide a safe disposal system that means you don’t have to touch the rat. In some systems, you don’t even have to see it. The chances of them getting away are nearly none with these revamped styles.
This trap has both a firm and sensitive setting. It will be easier to set on the firm setting. Keep in mind that the pedal is pre-baited. Adding bait is optional, but could affect the sensitivity. If you want to rid your home of both rats and mice and don’t want any mess, this Rat Zapper can do the job. What is the Rat Zapper? It’s not one of those expensive ultrasonic devices that claims to work but doesn’t do a thing. This device used ordinary bait or pet food to lure in the prey into the inner chamber. Though the power of electricity, you can deal with the mice or rats that plague your space. This machine uses a powerful jolt of over 8,000 volts of electrical energy to safely euthanize pests. There will be no blood or gore, and certainly no mess for you to clean up. It is an earth friendly way to handle an age-long problem. Better still is that fact that it doesn’t use messy traps and other poisons, which are dangerous to pets and children. Who wants toxins in their home anyway? If you are concerned about the environment, this is one zapper to check out.
Mixing poison with edible bait can cause numerous problems. For example, if a rat gets away with the bait and drags it across the floor, that poison could potentially spread through your flooring. This can be hazardous to any bare feet that cross over the area, especially if you have pets or children in the house.
As hinted by its name, the PestNoMore will make pests such as rats no more in your home. The well-built contraception comes in new improved design for better performance and reliability. It’s constructed from high-quality plastic and can be powered from the AC mains or batteries.
I’M AMAZED! I have pet chickens and this year I made the coop so cozy the mice moved in…I was horrified at all the activity I was seeing. I bought this because I hate to kill anything and this appeared to be the most humane. For 2 days i didnt use batteries, I only put my chicken feed in it so that the mice would get used to eating from it. Then I activated it with 4 C Duracell batteries, and took a toothpick of almond butter and smeared a little on the bait door. I turned on the Victor M241 and placed it facing where I’ve seen them coming and going and then walked over to my other coop to get some fencing to put around it so the chickens wouldn’t see the dead mouse and try to get to it (yes, chickens are carnivores)…when I came back 10 min later the buzzer was sounding off..i waited for it to stop and the green light started blinking every 5 or 10 seconds indicating a kill. I picked ut up and dumped in the trash. During this time I saw 2 little mice crawling around my big crates that I no longer use but they were eating crumbs and shavings so I put the device in there, closed the crate door and turned the device on again…and watched a little mouse walk right into it. That was #2. I emptied it, put it back in the crate again, turned it back on and closed the coop up for the night. This morning I had 2 more in there. I will add more almond butter bait tonight but until I dont have a kill overnight I’m not cleaning it. I wont use detergent as Ive read it repels them. This has a super fast kill time..just get good batteries like Duracell to ensure that.
Back to the trap review. The best bait I found is two half peanuts dropped into the cup. I did have to mount the trap to a decent size piece of 2×6 wood. This kept the trap from being pushed over by the rats. Once I had this set up figured it out, I never missed a rat. Humane? Really? These things do a lot of expensive damage to things such as automobile wires. They do not deserve humane treatment. They deserve this very effective rat trap. If it is in good functioning order and set up as I stated, it NEVER misses. Put it out in the early evening and throw the dead rat out somewhere in the desert the next morning.
Just like the name suggests, this trap will eliminate rats as well as mice. Eliminator Robust Electronic Rat measures 11 x 5 x 5 inches and has enough space for most rats to creep in and meet their fate. It is based on a superior technology that upon sensing the intruder delivers a powerful 7000-volt shock that kills the rodent.
The process with this Rat Trap is quick and painless. The snaps humanely kill the rat. The best part is the unit doesn’t require poisons or chemicals to get the job done. Because no toxins are used, it can safely be used around food or water. This unit is also eco-friendly and is made from 100 percent recyclable materials. For those who like the typical style of trap but want something just a bit stronger, the Made2Catch Classic Metal Rat Trap is what you need.
Trying to figure out exactly what is the best bait for mouse traps can be difficult, especially if you are not getting the results you wanted. However, using the insider information above – as well as some good old-fashioned common sense – you should have no trouble getting great results and getting rid of mice fast.
Its design is slightly different, and therefore they are much safer than the conventional snap traps. You can use them along the walls, in the corners, or wherever you see their activity. These traps can also be used by professionals for controlling the rat infestation.
Trapping rats can be frustrating as well as a little gross, but in the end, it will all be worth it. There are a variety of ways to trap rats, with multiple different trap types out there that will catch a rat however you deem appropriate. One thing that is universally true, though, no matter the trap – peanut butter. To successfully protect your home against invading wild rats, be sure to use peanut butter as bait. Because just like us, rats and peanut butter seem to go together incredibly well.
Basically how this works is the mouse makes his way up the ramp, through the hole and because you put the peanut butter on the far end of the can, he is forced to step on the can, which will spin, ultimately leading to the mouse to fall into the bucket where you have water deep enough that the mouse will drown.
Use the Rat Zapper Classic with peanut butter or even ordinary pet food as bait to attract unwanted pests. Its smart circuit technology with metal plates allows it to deliver a two-minute, 8,000 volt shock to any sorry individual that enters its walls.
Its advanced rodent detection technology ensures that when the rats or other same sized rodents come to eat the bait, they get killed instantly. It’s a highly effective & the best electric rat trap for killing rats, mice, chipmunks, squirrels, and other same sized rodents.
I haven’t had much experience with any other non-kill trap, but this one has worked well for me. I have been using it to catch small ground squirrels because of all of the holes they make in my yard and I have been catching about one every other day per trap. The first five died in the trap. I set the traps in the morning (baited with watermelon and unshelled peanuts because that is what I had) and checked them when I got home from work. I wasn’t sure why the first one died (caught Day 1). When the second one (caught Day 2) died I started to think it might be too hot (high around 90?) and they were dying of thirst even though I baited with fruit and the full roof offered at least some shade. I set the traps again and … full review
Spread butter on the handle of a spoon and put it across the bucket. When the mouse climbs to get peanut butter, it will fall into the bucket with a spoon. If you do not like the idea that the mice would ruin cutlery, you can make a similar trap with any other materials, such as paper plate, tissue paper roll, etc or make bucket & spoon trap with water in the bucket.
I set this glue trap for this mouse cause it was destroying my stuff every night. It was successfull but was bad as it when the mouse gets stuck to the trap it cant escape and it dies from hunger, and weakness from trying continuously from freeing itself and it dies after 4-5 days of struggle. This stuff is inhumane I felt so bad for the poor little thing that i freed it, which was the hardest thing to do, and left in and open field.

Pet Food – If it’s good enough for your dog or cat, it’s good enough for the rats and mice of your neighborhood. They won’t limit themselves to cat and dog food, either. Expect mice and rats to be interested in anything you feed any other animal including grains, seed, hay, fish food and so on.
Using rat attractants or lures in small amounts attract rats, but in large amounts they repel rats. Most rat attractants are synthetic versions of “rat breath odor” that rats use to signal the safety of a food supply. Using too much of the rat attractant—or using commercial rat bait that has been allowed to dry out—will chase rats away from traps.
