I will as a matter of principle only recommend things on this site if I feel they’re good value.  Usually I’ve tried them myself or know and trust someone else who has.  In this case, I’ve been using this trap now for well over two years, with excellent results.
How it Works – Mice and small rats enter the trap through a side hole.  After entering the trap, they step on a small “trip” plate that releases the entire floor and sweeps them into a holding chamber.  This revolving floor is very gentle to mice and can capture several mice at the same time.  The floor is similar to a “paddle wheel”.  This wheel is spring loaded and will reset itself.  Up to 15 mice can be captured with 1 winding of the spring.  A black spring knob is located on the outside of the trap. This knob is wound by hand several times to engage the spring.
Hoont™ Electronic Rodent Trap costs ~$58.99. The trap is supplied in two pieces which are supposed to be assembled. The idea of its functioning is the same as for any other trap: the rodents are electrocuted once they touch metal plates covering the entire floor of the trap. The trap also has an indicator which gives either a red flash (this happens when a rodent is inside, don’t touch anything if you don’t want to get electrocuted!) or a green one (when the rodent is finally dead). There is also a sound signal available.
Unfortunately (or fortunately for you), yes, they can. You have to choose for that purpose a trap with a large entrance, such as Victor Rat Trap. After the installation you follow the standard scheme: you place the bait (fruit, nuts or seeds) inside and you wait for the electric discharge to do the trick.
The process of zapping a rat often results in the rat releasing the contents of its bladder.  If there is a build up of rat urine in the trap it will eventually foul the contact wires in the unit.  Take the time to clean the inside of the trap with a damp cloth whenever it looks dirty inside.  Make sure the power is disconnected and the batteries are removed before cleaning the trap.
I put a bit of peanut butter on the center plastic bit and put this under my drawer. Finally caught the mouse that’s been running around my house for weeks! We haven’t found out where it comes in from, but at least we know that we can catch them! Thank you for these awesome traps! My brother and I took it to the next town over and released it in front of the forest. The little fellow couldn’t wriggle off. We used dishwasher soap and some water to set it free. No more rat poo around the house! Mom finally relieved. No more skittering noises in the night! Adios, El Magnifico!
To set the trap, hold it vertically and make sure the yellow pedal is at about a 20 or 30 degree angle from the base. Then set the trap by hooking the metal bar under the lip of the yellow pedal. If you hook the left side of the pedal, the trap will be easier to set but slightly more difficult to trip. If you hook the right side, the trap will be more difficult to set but slightly easier to trip. For the best accuracy and outcome, we recommend setting the trap somewhere between these two settings.
Trapper T-Rex Rat Snap Trap –  The Trapper T-Rex Rat trap works very well at capturing rats while not being of any immediate danger to older children or pets. If they happen to trip the trap, it generally scares them while not doing any real damage to tiny fingers.
Rats tend to be wary of new objects, so they will need a good reason to enter your live trap. Baiting a trap includes two critical elements: selecting a bait and carefully positioning the bait inside the trap. Learn more about recommended baits and placement below.
Rats have been the bane of human civilization for as long as there have been humans. These enterprising rodents were originally forest dwellers that took their rightful place in the animal kingdom. However, as the human population grew and developed civilizations, rats adapted to a life of living off human food waste. The rats targeted by rat traps have become pests and are known specifically as black rats, taxonomically named rattus rattus.
Victor® offers a wide selection of rat control products to rid your home of this disease-carrying rodent. In addition to outdoor rat traps of the snap trap design, indoor products include glue boards and electronic traps and repellents.
Update: reduced my rating from ***** (5) to ** (2) as the trap broke after the first use (kill). The plastic latch mechanism cracked, presumably when it caught the first rodent, and will no longer set. It was literally set 1x and used 1x (correctly per instructions) and broke.
The Victor Electronic Rat Trap is the ultimate in rodent control. It works by delivering a humane, high-voltage shock to effectively kill the invading rat. This powerful device is capable of killing up to 50 rats per set of fully charged batteries (4 C), making it a great value when you’re dealing with a sizable infestation. It’s also easy to use! Get started by simply applying a high protein bait in the provided bait cup, place the trap in a location with high rodent activity and turn it on.
It runs on 4C batteries that offer up to 50 cycles or 50 rats and comes with a zero escape patented design. The smart device automatically resets itself after a kill and is easy to carry since it weighs about 15.2 ounces.
The concept here is that the larger end of the plate, the side without the bait on it, is being held by the buckets edge, to give the mouse support enough to walk onto the plate and make it’s way to the bait.
Melted, it has the consistency of latex paint, and solidifies quickly as it is poured on the cardboard squares I chose to use. It doesn’t lose it’s “stickiness”, and is way more economical than buying individual traps. However, I’m not going to pay $90+ per gallon. Hope this helps.
If you have average-sized rats and a need for less than 20 kills per set of batteries, get the Rat Zapper® Classic electronic rat trap, equipped with a large chamber size. However, if you are dealing with larger rats, consider buying the Rat Zapper® Ultra (sold separately), equipped with the largest chamber size available and suited to kill more than 20 rats per set of batteries.
Its green light indicator blinks when it kills an animal. According to the company, with one set of batteries, this device can kill up to 50 rats. You can check this article about Victor Electronic Rat Traps, you’ll get some useful information.
You cut a hole out of the top of the shoebox and tape two pieces of paper to form a trap door. We placed a little bit of cracker crumbs on our trapped doors with some peanut butter smeared very lightly to prevent it from weighing the door down and it worked great.
Let’s start with the principle of operation. Raticator Max e-trap uses infrared detection so it will activate only when a rodent is inside the trap. No peanut or other bait blocking again! Also, Raticator Max Trap is heavy enough with the batteries installed so the trap will not be moved by rats.
A few days after the baited traps have been discovered, set the traps and kill your rats en masse. This will seriously reduce their population, possibly to the point where they won’t be able to repopulate. At the very least, these rodents will shy away from your property!
A: Remove the small staple holding the locking bar to the wood base. Place bait inside curl found at the end of the bait pedal.  Pull back bow and hold down with thumb. With other hand, engage the curved portion locking bar under the small, V-shaped lip on the bait pedal.
Though they may seem practical, mouse glue traps are probably one of the most inhumane ways to catch a mouse. Once the mouse is stuck to the strip, it will remain alive until one of the following happens:

Trapper Glue Board For Rats –  Glue boards for rat and mice control are one of the most criticized yet effective methods of capturing rats ever devised.  PETA – “People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals” has petitioned the EPA, most States, and the National Pest Management Association to remove glue board traps as a means of rodent control.  PETA considers glue boards cruel and inhumane to rats and mice.

Rat traps are designed to capture rats. As rats are suspicious of new objects and they know if they have seen a rat trapped inside a trap with one entrance, for example, they will be wary and may avoid them. Spring traps are powerful enough to break an animal’s neck or spine and can even break a human finger. Rat traps are much firmer than a regular mousetrap and may actually not be as sensitive to a mouse as it would to the larger rat. There are a few different types of rat traps that can be used. Glue traps are non-poisonous sticky glue that is usually spread over card board, which sticks the rat into place. A non-lethal trap is a funnel shaped wire cage, the rats can move themselves into the tube through the narrow opening but cannot escape due to the wires poking at them.
The Snap E Rat Trap comes in packs of 6 allowing you to distribute the traps around the house to catch the problem rodents quickly. The quick response time that these traps use means there is no escape for the rodent once it’s been caught. There is a vertical bar that like the traditional wooden traps have except these traps have half the distance to travel so the response is quicker therefore leaving the mouse with next to no time to retrieve the bait. There is also an extra-large paddle and strike bar that catches the rodents from the front the sides and the back, leaving the rodent no way to escape. The Big Snap E does not allow any stains or odors like the old fashioned wooden traps; they can be reused for years so you get maximum usage for your money. The simple and sanitary traps are safe for both the user and the animal trapped inside.
The ultimate bait is one that is accepted by the rodents and not easily removed from the trigger.  Try a variety of baits to find what works best in your situation.  In sites where food is abundant but nesting material is scarce, soft string, cotton balls, or strips of cloth are attractive to female mice and rats.   To enhance the material, try applying one or two drops of vanilla extract as an added lure.
