Some rat traps such as the snap traps can injure people, pets, children or wildlife if they accidentally encounter the trap. It is advised to use a Trapper T Rex Snap Trap inside a secured bait station, like Protecta Bait Stations or Ambush Bait Station as an alternate trapping solution.

guys I am relocated in Vietnam where I was facing big rats(about 50 big rats) in our company I bought traps from eBay when I was in London, but i am sorry to say it only worked on mice sometimes and had no effect on big rats, I used following procedure to kill all the rats.
I am a believer. I use a three stage approach: warfarin in baits outside and a combo of glue traps and a single Victor trap. After two days, I got my first one in the kitchen with the Victor. Placement is the key. If you see mouse poops, that is a good place along the wall in a dark corner. Disposal is easy and it never got soiled with the first mouse. But if I get another mouse kill, I will clean it out to be sure it is attractive with the peanut butter on the bait cup.
This is done by eliminating the sources of rat food and water from the buildings in question, including fixing leaky indoor and outdoor taps and cleaning up food spills promptly. Storage of both human and pet food should be in containers which the rats cannot easily chew through (metal, ceramic or glass). Food waste should not be tossed on the ground around the structure, garbage cans must be secured. Bird feeder spillage must be cleaned up promptly—bird seed is a prime attractant to rats, particularly in an urban or suburban environment.
Other non-lethal traps include the “bucket trap”, literally little more than a large plastic or metal bucket which has a piece of wood propped against it. Food bait is placed at the bottom of the bucket. Rats climb up the “ramp”, go for the food then find they cannot climb out of the trap. Again, these must be monitored carefully and the rats released outside promptly. This type of rat trap can be easily converted to a humane killing trap by filling the bucket about a third full with water. Most rats will drown within two minutes, although Norway rats are strong swimmers and it could take far longer for them to exhaust themselves and succumb.
I have found a much better bait than peanut butter . . . Tootsie Rolls. Just moisten them in your mouth and place a portion on the trap. You will catch several mice/rats before you need to add more bait. Give this a try.
Rats are smart. I always use surgical gloves when handling the traps and never touch whatever bait I am using, whether it be cheese, peanut butter or rotten fruit. Rats have an excellent sense of smell and will avoid human scent whenever something else is available. So until someone truly develops a better rat trap, stay with the old standard. Just be careful.
Seriously….most insects cannot hear. Not at all….Crickets, katydids, cicadas and mosquitoes can hear sound. A few moths and flying mantids can also hear the high-pitched sounds bats make and avoid the bat, which is pretty cool! Beyond that, however, most insects are deaf, such as roaches, beetles, ants, dragonflies, etc. How does anyone actually believe these claims?
ANSWER: There is limited data on how well electronic or high-frequency sound devices work for household pest control. These devices may be called ultrasonic, electronic, microvibration or electromagnetic pest repellers. The manufacturers state that they use high-frequency sound waves or electromagnetic output to repel insects (cockroaches, fleas, house flies, mosquitoes, rodents, moles, and other pests).  There is truly no data, aside from anecdotal information on various internet sites, as to the effectiveness of these devices.
This one when I first found it I gave it no mind. I then saw it again on another forum and decided to investigate it a little further.  At first, it looks as if there is just a glass upside down held up by a nickel. Looking closely you can see there is peanut butter smeared on the bottom of the glass. Apparently a penny isn’t big enough so the nickel is the correct size to use here.
Haven’t really tried electronic pest controllers but I think they must work on some or all pest especially ants I’ve noticed when their on my counter and I cause a vibration they instantly run around frantically like they’ve lost all control of direction

We found a simple bucket with some water in it, 500ml coke bottle, wire through the bottle connected to each side of the bucket, peanut butter smeared about on the coke bottle. The rats/mice come to eat the peanut butter and roll off the bottle into the bucket of water. Caught 9 mice within the hour..
Apply a small amount of high-protein bait, such as peanut butter, hazelnut spread or bacon to the yellow plastic pedal on the trap as shown. Use a Q-tip, toothpick or another tool to bait to avoid transferring your scent to the trap.

Then, position boxes of equal height next to the buckets. Place thin wood planks on the boxes and have them overhang into the middle of the buckets. The planks should fall into the buckets easily when a little bit of pressure is applied to the end of it.
It is also of vital importance to rat-proof buildings. This means to seal off entry points with heavy gauge small gap screening material or close gaps up entirely. Structures must also be kept free of items that provide ready nesting materials to the rats. Bushes and woodpiles should be kept away from outside walls, grass kept closely cut and overgrowth kept under control.

Place the tube on the edge of a countertop or second story landing. Place the tube in such a way so that about 40% of it, including the baited end, hangs over the edge of the landing.[2] If necessary, affix the tube with a small piece of tape, but take care not to tape it so firmly that it would not give way and tip over the edge of the landing or countertop when the baited end was subjected to slight force.
As you know, rats live in groups and prefer to live next to people to find food and a safe home, especially in highly populated areas. Rats can eat your food, lead to severe injury, and transmit diseases. Let’s talk how you can make a rat trap.
Excellent. Caught rats I had been after with boards that had less “stick em.” Will buy again! I even cut the piece off that had the dead critter on it and kept using the remainder. Lay a piece of paper on the sticky part and cut through it. Helps keep scissors from getting stuck to board.
After reading several reviews and deciding against the collateral damage that glue traps and poison could cause, as well as watching several videos on how to make various bucket traps, I decided the classic Victor M326 Professional Rat Trap would best suit my needs. What can one say … it’s an oldie but a goodie. I placed the order from Amazon and waited for Prime delivery. In the interim I watched and plotted. I watched that bold lil’ rat scurry from the outskirts of the yard across the center of the lawn, again. It cruised under my car, paused and checked to see the coast was clear, and then it gleefully jumped into the garden. No, I’m not crazy, the movement with which the rat entered the garden was gleeful, almost like it was prancing. It was out for a night on the town at our expense. I could do nothing but wait for the traps; however, el raton made one critical mistake – now I confirmed its entry point to the garden and knew it’s approximate feeding time, it was the second evening in a row it entered the garden at the same spot and same time out cruising for grub. I couldn’t wait to get that rat bastard.
Known for the most innovative rodent control products on the market, Victor Electronic Rat Trap is the only rat trap with a patented 3-plate design to prevent escapes. Easy to use, the trap is simply baited, placed against the wall and turned on. The trap uses advanced smart circuit technology to sense when a rodent enters the units. Once the rodent is inside, the system delivers a humane, high-voltage shock to effectively kill the rat or mouse in seconds. A green indicator light illuminates when a rat has been exterminated and is ready for removal. Rodents can then be dumped directly into the trash for no-touch, no-view mouse control. Since rats have the ability to restart their hearts after an electrical shock, the Victor Electronic Rat Trap applies shock for 2 minutes ensuring high kill rates. Additionally, the Victor Electronic Rat Trap is the only trap that automatically resets after an irregular escape. Safe for use anywhere in the home, the Victor Electronic Rat Trap is ideal for attics, garages, basements, sheds, and kitchens. A lifetime investment, the Electronic Rat Trap is easy to clean and can be reused indefinitely. For effective rat control, one set of 4 ‘C’ batteries will eliminate up to 50 rats, and a red light indicates when batteries need replacing.
Leaving the phone plugged in and the app running all night. It has different frequencies to choose from, so I will change the frequency each night. That way the rodents won’t get used to any one frequency.
