The original wood-based wire snap trap, the Victor Metal Pedal Rat Trap provides instant rodent control and is safe for household use. Trusted to control rats for over 100 years, this trap allows for clean and quick trapping – ideal for maximum rodent. Once a rodent triggers the metal petal, the trap immediately springs closed to eliminate the pest on contact. It can then be easily disposed of for quick and clean removal. 7 in. x 3 1/4 in. x 1/2 in. Place station near baseboards, corners,
The rat, enticed into the box by a yummy treat at the entrance and smeared on the back wall , steps on a metal plate.  This triggers an electric shock which – as long as the batteries are full or nearly full – kills within a couple of seconds.
This technique doesn’t buy the mouse or rat a lot of time. If you put in it other rodents’ territory, they will attack it. It’s also vulnerable to predators. But you will have avoided killing the creature yourself. Don’t reuse the container for food storage.
A: Place traps perpendicular to the wall near signs of rodent activity (to find out where your area of high activity is please see Diagnose Your Home). For Rats, place traps out unset for a few days so they can become familiar with it.
These noises are often accompanied by a vibration in the chest cavity, in fact if you rest your fingers lightly on there back you can often feel the vibrations before you can hear the noise.  These are noises associated with damage to the respiratory tract and often the first sign of a respiratory issue.  In some cases a rat can have scarring or a genetic defect causing it to make these noises even when not ill, however its important to rule out respiratory issues with a course of antibiotics before assuming this.
Use a strong disinfectant to clean areas where you’ve seen grimy trails and mouse poop, especially around their entry points, so that new mice don’t find their way in after you’ve trapped those already in your home. Also thoroughly clean up and disinfect anyplace you see mice droppings, as their location also communicates to other mice.[28]
What’s worse than having diseased rodents in your home? The expense needed to get rid of them. Traps. Poison. You know rats are cautious creatures so it’s possible they could avoid your traps for days, and while you wait for your investment to work, these clever creatures could be turning your home into a breeding ground as you sleep.
We use a tall kitchen garbage can and a piece of news paper with an x cut into it. Tiny piece of tape in center keeps together. Fill with enough water so they can’t touch bottom. Sprinkle with some bait and wait. I live near a crick that is connected to a major river. It brings rats right to my house. Great big river rats. Works great and don’t have to worry about my pets. When rats get tired from swimming they drown. Just fish out with a rake and reset.
I’ve had one of these in my kitchen for 2 yrs, didn’t know that pests can get used to the sound. Nevertheless I bought a few more of them for some other rooms in my home. I’ve been seeing a lot of spiders in the house, so I will know if it works on them. I do recommend them, no ants, roaches that I seen. I do think that I will unplug them for a short while and then plug them in again.
No kill rat traps are slowly gaining in popularity as more and more people become concerned with animal rights, although they have get to gain widespread popularity . Rats do have a place in the ecosystem as scavengers clearing out dead animal and plant materials. They are also an important food source for carnivorous species such as owls, hawks, bobcats, mountain lions and many other apex predators.
We have a couple of cats, only problem is wife feeds them all day long so they will not catch mice/rats. If she isn’t at home for a few days/weeks, I tend to give the cats only a single small meal per day and keep a few outside. Then rats/mice are reduced drastically.
Seriously….most insects cannot hear. Not at all….Crickets, katydids, cicadas and mosquitoes can hear sound. A few moths and flying mantids can also hear the high-pitched sounds bats make and avoid the bat, which is pretty cool! Beyond that, however, most insects are deaf, such as roaches, beetles, ants, dragonflies, etc. How does anyone actually believe these claims?
An electric rat trap is a simple device that electrocutes rodents, effectively killing them immediately. A homemade rat trap that is electrified can be used only indoors, out of the reach of children and pets.
A. Glue traps last as long as the glue isn’t covered by dust, dirt, trash, or insects. The cleaner the area is when you start, the longer the glue trap will remain sticky. Just to be sure, don’t use a glue trap for more than 30 days.
My wife and I have a vegetable garden in our yard (summer 2013). We’ve been harvesting several types of peppers and tomatoes, as well as other veg, all summer long. Life is good – our garden is exploding. We have an abundance of plants producing an abundance of food. We’re able to share with neighbors and friends, eat our fill and can/pickle/preserve the rest — all home grown, pesticide free vegetables. Then, to our dismay, we noticed some of the Chablis peppers had been decimated by a critter. I figured – we had a good run but the party was over and the neighborhood chipmunks and/or squirrels finally found our food oasis and would be frequenting the smorgasbord buffet for the rest of the season. I’ve seen chipmunks in the yard and found their holes in various places. I even saw a squirrel eyeballing the garden one afternoon; however, it walked off when I started eyeballing it. So, our abundant produce would have to be shared with the local wildlife – and life goes on. Then, it all changed, the sunshine and rainbows in Happy Town turned to darkness and screams of terror as we learned … we had a rat problem.
Those who don’t want to kill mice prefer to use electronic repellers. It’s a human and cut-rate way. For example, the set of 4 Ultrasonic Pest Repellers by Pest Venator costs only ~$28.89 Check the current price.
I think I will try the bucket rat trap with stairway to heaven, but made the spindle withe the can on an inch or so lower. My reasoning is that if it’s too high they could just eat away, but lower down they would need to lean in more and hopefully fall in more easily
We live in a split-level single family house. We saw some rat droppings in the upper floor. We kais these glue traps in the upper and lower floor. The next day a rat was stuck at the lower floor glue tray. We threw the tray and put in another one. We did not catch any more rats and saw no more droppings. These glue trays are easy to set up and the price is very reasonable. It is wide and can easily be separated in two trays. I am a happy satisfied customer.
You will need a 2-liter soda bottle, barbwire, glue, toothpick and bait (peanut butter, bacon, sunflower seeds). Before making the rat trap diy, put on latex or vynil gloves to avoid leaving human scent. Take a 2-liter soda bottle and cut 2 inches off the top. The opening will be the entrance.
OK, I live in southern Italy, a tiny part of paradise on earth. I am in the middle of ten million Olive trees, quiet, no pollution, no noise apart from the noisy birds, owls and Bats at night as well as the squeaking of noisy MICE. I was humanely catching up to five every night and rehoming them a safe distance away, UNTIL, (drum roll) I discovered these sonic noise mice scarers, since the FIRST night that I installed them, I have not seen a single little micey, NOT ONE and even the so called deaf mosquitoes and other flying nuisances, so YES these little devices do work and work really well.
Apply a small amount of high-protein bait, such as peanut butter, hazelnut spread or bacon to the yellow plastic pedal on the trap as shown. Use a Q-tip, toothpick or another tool to bait to avoid transferring your scent to the trap.
Mice either feast on the peanut butter on the trap and go on their merry way or when we have caught a mouse it’s still alive flipping around stuck in the trap. The last one ended up across our dining room. We had to do a search and rescue for it. We set it free and hopped away like nothing happened. We did catch/kill one but none since. Very disappointed in this product. If I can locate the receipt I’ll call customer service. In the 21st century it shouldn’t be this hard to kill a mouse.
I haven’t used them yet but I bought 5 of them for 2 dollars n some change each off eBay ….so I spent 11 dollars n change all together for 5 of them…..I got a new apartment. .the neighbor has a infestation of roaches..so there where roaches..and spiders..omg.. I used insect fogger in each room …a boric acid ..and roach gel in the corners and crevasses…I haven’t moved in yet ..even though I’ve only seen 1 roach everytime I visit…so I just hope these ultrasonic things work..and keep everything out ..I have a 1 year old..we can’t live in there until every insect is out
Q.I have been using your snap traps for 45 years. I just bought another package. I cannot get the snap to lock down or not for long. When it does lock, it goes off in my hand or within seconds of setting it down. What is going on?
In general, rat traps can be broken into two broad categories: traps intended to kill the rodent and live capture cages. Both lure the rat in with food and have the ultimate goal of removing the animal considered vermin by most people from a home or work environment.
After about an hour I went and checked the traps. The trap along the fence remained undisturbed. The trap in the garden had been sprung but no rat. I thought maybe the breeze blew the pepper plants and maybe one of the hanging peppers bumped the trap mechanism and set it off. Regardless, nothing. However, I remained undeterred in my pursuit of victory. So, I re-set the trap and again … waited.
Overall this seems like a good product and I like its non-toxic properties, but, it was not effective for me at catching rodents. Instead, I have ordered the $60 Raticator with 7000-volts of “old sparky” level rat shocking ability and expect delivery today. I can’t wait to put the “D” cell batteries in that baby and start zapping some rats into oblivion as it has very high reviews.
Is there any way I can get mice out of my room without telling my family? I’m 14 and my room was messy. It might not be my fault but I’ve seen two mice and I’m afraid my family will get mad if I tell them.

ABoth rat traps are made by Victor and both are very durable and strong. The Victor M326 has a larger bait pedal that resembles cheese (though it can be baited with anything), is easier to set then normal traps, and also has a sensitivity setting that will prevent the trap from snapping due to vibrations in the environment, such as those caused by heavy machinery. The Victor M200 is the traditional wooden rat trap.
5. Place the trap wherever you’ve seen signs of rodent activity or along the wall where rodents like to travel. The baited end of the trap should be placed flush against the wall. For best results, place multiple traps at 2 to 3 foot intervals.
Since rats prefer enclosed, safe locations, use Protecta Bait Stations with the T-Rex Snap Traps. These stations will shelter the rat; encouraging it to enter and protect non-targeted animals and children from the harm of the snap trap. The Victor Snap Traps are fine traps, but its height will not fit into bait stations. If this is the case, you can get a cardboard box, cut holes in it and place it over the Victor Snap Trap. This method is not tampered resistant, however.
These are the best electronic Brogdon Taylor’s I have ever found. I have bought every conceivable type of this product from Amazon from the terminator to the rat zapper. Most important tip: I found that Rats got very inventive at licking or grabbing the peanut butter or bait from the airholes in back, so I just took an old metal box and blocked it so they had to go into the front to get the bait…. they still love the bait, they just aren’t able to steal it anymore.
DESCRIPTION:Victor Rat traps work very well and kill rats instantly. They are strong and durable enough to kill even the largest rats with ease. Victor Rat snap traps work best when baited with sticky bait (i.e. peanut butter) to ensure that the rat will disturb the trigger mechanism even if the rat touches the bait only lightly. 1 case = 12 traps.
It might be best not to completely rely on these devices for pest control. Your best bet is to call your local Orkin Branch Office and have an Orkin Pest Specialist come to your home and provide you with a thorough rodent inspection. Your Orkin Pest Specialist will develop a customized, scientifically proven, treatment protocol that best fits your needs.
Q.Do you mean to tell me that you could not invent a better trip for loading without one jeopardizing his/her fingers to load the trap? I thought you had better adaptness than that. I had to use two pliers in order to bait the trap in order to protect my fingers. What a shame on YOU.
