The Victor rat trap can be used indoors or out. Because of its design, it is perfect for a barn or other outdoor location. This trap is 7 inches long and 3.25 inches wide, which is perfect for capturing those large rats. Due to the fact that this trap is designed for rats, it won’t work as well for smaller mice. These traps are very sturdy and a produce a wicked snap that can kill a rate up to 6 inches. It’s the most economical way to take care of the occasional rat or a whole house infestation.
This is another powerful and humanely killing electronic rat trap which produces a deadly shock which kills the rodent instantly. It’s a device which completes the task very quickly and doesn’t produce any bloodshed. This is one of the most popular traps on the market.
I’ve had one of these in my kitchen for 2 yrs, didn’t know that pests can get used to the sound. Nevertheless I bought a few more of them for some other rooms in my home. I’ve been seeing a lot of spiders in the house, so I will know if it works on them. I do recommend them, no ants, roaches that I seen. I do think that I will unplug them for a short while and then plug them in again.

3) Are you a conservationist? If the answer is yes, and you believe that harming mice isn’t morally justifiable, then Snap Traps, Glue Traps and Baiting Stations aren’t what you want. A Multiple Catch trap is more likely what you are looking for when it comes to catching these animals. These sort of devices are great and effective for catching small rodents in your home, so if you are looking for a humane way to get rid of the animals then this is what you’re looking for.
Even after setting out the unset rat traps and following the procedure in step #9, you may still have rats that will not go into the snap traps. There are alpha and beta rats in a rat population. The first rats to be caught in snap traps are the beta rats (inferior rats). The superior alpha rats are much more cautious around the snap traps. At this point, use a live trap. Rodenticides may be another choice for you at this point. Rodent baits (the strong single feed baits) are more costly, but will cause much more pressure on the rodent population as they readily take the bait and die.
I put a little peanut butter in the removable tray that unscrews from bottom, put it in the backyard where the dog can’t reach it, and it catches a rat. It’s caught many rats and seems to be going strong. The trap is set by pushing down on the lever on the back of the trap, it locks open automatically, and is very easy and safe to maneuver even when the trap is set. You can remove the rat very similarly. Pick it up on the end away from the rat, lock it open and jiggle over the trash until the rat falls out. You never have to reach into the jaws to add bait since the bait tray unscrews from the bottom.
Place the trap along a wall where the rodents have been traveling. Set the teeth of the trap so they face the wall. Rodents traveling along the wall will run onto the yellow trigger and release the trap.
Rats (especially Roof rats) are wary of new objects, new foods or changed in environment. They are constantly exploring surroundings and notice changes and are suspious by nature.. This is why traps and bait stations may be avoided for a day or two. They approach new food or object with caution. Within a rat colony, they may be a few rats that are extra cautious and manage to avoid traps or eating rodent baits. See Rat Trapping Tips and Rat Baiting Tips.
I have had several of the Victor Traps, the Classic and the Ultra, and when they work, they are awesome. The batteries do not last as long as advertised, and unfortunately you are always going to have false triggers, as bugs, dust, and moisture can make the plates arc. The other thing is they do stop working, no matter how well you try to maintain them, but Victor will replace them if you call them. They do have an excellent customer service department. Make sure to keep your proof of purchase in a safe place. If you buy online, just keep a record of the invoice or shipping info. If you live in a rural area, you can throw the dead rats out in an area where birds can see them and they will take care of the remains for you. (Rat-cycling!) Speaking of recycling, when the batteries no longer power the trap, they are still good for other things, like flashlights.
Electronic Zapper Rat Trap Advantages – Simple to use, rat or mouse is hidden inside chamber after death so it is not visible.  Flashing red light alerts to a kill.  Only trap that kills both mice and large rats.
DRG suggested using a different bait, one he wouldn’t easily remove. I modified the trigger to make the V-shaped metal tab stick up at a 45º angle. I then formed a ball of cheese around the trigger and reset the trap.
This trap is especially dangerous to small children and small animals.  It’s basically a “snare” type snap trap that is totally unforgiving.  Unless you need a lot of rat traps and can place them in areas away from unsuspecting children or pets, they are not recommended.
rip wood, floor tile and subway tile from wall over and over, so one needs to look for those holes and patch with caulk and patch mouse stickies on top of the caulk. It is important to look for the source of entries to patch up, otherwise they will continue to enter apt or house.
Whether we’re aware of it or not, we assume mice and cheese go together like rabbits and carrots. Like monkeys and bananas. It’s an honest mistake a lot of people make, and with good reason. We hear it in stories, and see it in films, cartoons, and commercials. We have accepted it as a given for countless years: mice love cheese. But its unreliable success as bait for mouse traps has left people wondering: “Do mice like cheese?” Perhaps not.
Okay then, as stated at the top, the only real rat repellent is to find out how they are getting into the house, and sealing those entry points shut. Completely natural, safe on the environment, and the only totally effective way to solve a rat problem! Read some of my below articles for more information on rat control, or if you want to talk to an expert in person, See my Map of Professional Rat Removal Companies. If you want to go ahead and try any of the above rat repellent products or devices, feel free! Then later when you realize that you need to actually find the holes and seal them out, do so, or hire a company to do so properly. Now that you know that there are no effective repellent products, the below LINKS should help you:
I get so many requests for rat control in mountain benches.  Over and over again, I have seen literal mazes of little trails worn away in the grass where rats have scurried back and forth to cat food, birdfeeders, garages, cellar doors, fruit trees, garbage cans, on and on.  It’s like the rats build up their own little metropolitan area with a highway system and everything.  And if they’re in your yard, guess who is running the 24-hour diner.
eBay determines trending price through a machine learned model of the product’s sale prices within the last 90 days. “New” refers to a brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item, and “Used” refers to an item that has been used previously.
When using anticoagulant baits, rodents must feed continuously over several days for the poison to be effective, so these baits must be refreshed often and made constantly available until feeding activity stops.

When you load up mouse traps with a lot of bait, the pests can steal some of it without getting caught in the trap. A pea-size amount of mouse trap bait is just right – enough to attract mice, but not so much that they can eat it without springing the trap.
Attempt to locate “favorite feeding locations” (indicated by a high concentration of rodent signs-droppings, tracks, odors, shredded paper, etc.) and replace existing food sources with bait stations in these locations.
in 2005 I bought a new Acura. Rat damage to the wiring cost $1,500 to repair. I placed a Victor ultrasonic repeller under each (2 cars) engine ( replacing with a new unit about every 4 years). No problems until a month ago- our 2015 Subaru had $2,300 worth of damage to the wiring. Checked the repeller- the light was working, but no sound. (The other still works, no damage.) Replaced the defective unit. They work, but must be loud and close.
We found a simple bucket with some water in it, 500ml coke bottle, wire through the bottle connected to each side of the bucket, peanut butter smeared about on the coke bottle. The rats/mice come to eat the peanut butter and roll off the bottle into the bucket of water. Caught 9 mice within the hour..

Totally reusable, these rat killers are made from sturdy waterproof and stain resistant plastic. Easy to wash, they can be reused time and time again without becoming stained and unhygienic like traditional wooden traps.
As a pest control technician , I could confirm that these products work perfectly for catching all forms of rats; whether they are babies or adults. In California where I work at, we have issues with roof and Norwegian rats and I could say that I haven’t had any issues with them. At times it can get messy but they are a clean and effective snap trap. Well done Victor and I hope my company continues to buy from you.
A Live Cat – Yes, cats are great hunters, and will kill rats. But will they kill the rats in your attic and walls? Unfortunately not. I can’t tell you how many cases of rat infestation I’ve gone to in homes with pet cats. It happens every week for me. Same goes for dogs, of course, even good ratters like Jack Russell Terriers.
But it doesnt end there. They are all over my yard as well and destroying my garden. I didn’t want to resort to something as extreme and cruel as this, but I spend months and months on my vegetable gardens and the only one’s benefitting and eating the delicious veggies are these little f&^rs.
To increase your odds of catching the critters, place traps inside closets, as well as under any furniture — like sofas, chairs or even cabinets — sitting along the walls. A clever way to lure rats into traps is to cut a hole on each side of a shoebox and place it along a suspected rat path with a baited trap inside. The box piques the rats curiosity on what’s inside — and once they go in, they won’t be coming back out.
According to customers’ reviews, Raticator know how to kill gophers too. But what about rats’ capture? Some customers are happy:  “GOT THIS IN TONIGHT and 2 hours later… BAM! Dumped him out, refilled with dry dog food, and 30 minutes later… BAM! Repeated the process and in less than an hour… BAM! A huge rat. Repeated the process. It’s now 12:30 AM and I’m waiting for another kill!”. Make your conclusions about its efficiency yourself.

Though it is designed without any killing action, the Trapro Humane is quite functional as a pest catcher. Available in two sizes, its door features a clever locking system that’s easy to set and is highly resistant to tampering from within.
