Be aware that live traps are less effective. While catch and release is undoubtedly the most humane way to rid your home of mice and rats, they will likely try to re-enter your house. If they do not succeed, they will likely die outside.
The next day, I awoke to what sounded like an intruder in the kitchen. In actuality, it was a mouse who was trying so violently to escape a glue trap that I mistook him for a living being hundreds of times his size. He took deep, shivering breaths, and every so often he would muster all of his energy and violently thrash in an attempt to free himself.
The concept here may seem complicated but its actually quite simple. On either side of the trapped door, is two rubber bands pulling at the door which is being held up by the trigger. The trigger is the red twine that runs to the bait in the bottom of the bottle.
conclusion — there should be some effect with these electronic device (mine is EI3110), but does it drive the cockroach wondering around, or they listen to the disco theme music (the LED light periodically go brighter and dimmer continuously) and come out , having a party of their lives —– who’s know
The original wood-based wire snap trap, the Victor Metal Pedal Rat Trap provides instant rodent control and is safe for household use. Trusted to control rats for over 100 years, this trap allows for clean and quick trapping – ideal for maximum rodent. Once a rodent triggers the metal petal, the trap immediately springs closed to eliminate the pest on contact. It can then be easily disposed of for quick and clean removal. 7 in. x 3 1/4 in. x 1/2 in. Place station near baseboards, corners,
my only comfort is that humans are going nowhere . . and come the the day there will be no shortage of food for rats. . . If you go the spring trap way . make sure it can do the job . . this was cheap one.
Glue traps never work to keep rodents away in the long run, and their use will actually backfire. This is because when animals are killed or otherwise removed, the resultant spike in the food supply causes accelerated breeding among survivors and newcomers—and this means increased populations. The only surefire way to keep mice and other animals out of your house is to make it less inviting to them.
The Victor Electronic Rat Trap is the ultimate in rodent control. It works by delivering a humane, high-voltage shock to effectively kill the invading rat. This powerful device is capable of killing up to 50 rats per set of fully charged batteries (4 C), making it a great value when you’re dealing with a sizable infestation. It’s also easy to use! Get started by simply applying a high protein bait in the provided bait cup, place the trap in a location with high rodent activity and turn it on. The trap is equipped with advanced smart circuit technology, which senses when a rat enters the tunnel, triggering the system to deliver a humane, high-voltage shock once the rat steps on the electrified plate. Since rats have the ability to restart their hearts after an electrical shock, this trap applies shock for 2 minutes to ensure higher kill rates. After making a catch, a green LED light blinks to indicate a kill. For your convenience, the trap’s design allows you to easily dispose of the dead rodent without having to see or touch it. The new and improved design of the electronic trap has a removable kill chamber, which provides better plate access so you can easily clean and bait it in between uses. These traps require no poison or chemicals and can be used anywhere inside your home or business to ensure years of effective rat control.
If you reach a level of desperation like I did, I can tell you that this is worth the money and having faith. I thought it was buggy and was planning to return, esp. with mixed reviews and no luck the first night… then, well, look at the photo!!! 😀
This trap has both a firm and sensitive setting. It will be easier to set on the firm setting. Keep in mind that the pedal is pre-baited. Adding bait is optional, but could affect the sensitivity. The thought of using a wide-mouth bucket to increase the distance to the bait wheel occurred to me early on in this epic battle. But due to my obsession with destroying Ratzilla’s posse in a timely manner, I had no time to waste. I wanted them dead. Now!
A. If you don’t catch any mice or rats by the sixth day after you put out the traps, put on gloves (so you don’t transfer your scent to the trap) and move the trap to another rodent runway. But make sure the traps haven’t become covered with dust or bridges of debris that give mice and rats the traction they need to escape. If the glue isn’t smooth and continuous, put out a new trap.
Even after setting out the unset rat traps and following the procedure in step #9, you may still have rats that will not go into the snap traps. There are alpha and beta rats in a rat population. The first rats to be caught in snap traps are the beta rats (inferior rats). The superior alpha rats are much more cautious around the snap traps. At this point, use a live trap. Rodenticides may be another choice for you at this point. Rodent baits (the strong single feed baits) are more costly, but will cause much more pressure on the rodent population as they readily take the bait and die.
Rats are smart and they are inherently cautious. Kill as many as you can at once before they get wise to your plans. If the rats figure out how to avoid the traps then you will need to switch to poisons.
If you place the trigger bar on the right side of the bait pad towards the “S” then the trigger is set to “Sensitive”. This means that the trap is harder for you to set but easier for the rat to trigger.
Snap traps are a humane choice when they are able to kill instantly. Ideally a snap trap is activated when food bait is removed or eaten by the rat, triggering the spring loaded mechanism. When the metal bar strikes the rat in the neck or spine, death is usually instantaneous. However, sometimes a rat will be caught by a paw or tail and not killed outright, resulting in an inhumane, prolonged death.
A: Individuals in a rodent population search for different types of food. For mice, anything high in protein like peanut butter, chocolate or hazelnut spread is a great option. Also, nesting materials like dental floss, cotton or string are also great options. Try to use whatever bait or nesting material the rodents are currently feeding on or using to build nests.
I had a professional come to my brand new house because I have had problems with mice. He put 2 of your Trapper Rat Glue Board Traps in my garage and they have caught so many things–5 lizards, 1 mouse and several roaches and spiders! They are wonderful! Thank you!
I just purchased the electronic pest repeller and i only saw one roach so far and I just put them in two days ago. But my daughter says she can hear it, it said on the box that us humans cant hear it. So why is she hearing it?
Apparently these have been modified into an inferior design. I had a few (I guess) older model mouse traps that were working fine. I bought four more to spread around, not thinking the design would be any different. But these new ones are impossible to keep set, if you can latch the bar at all. Had one snap while I was baiting another one, with nothing triggering it. The second one snapped as I was trying to place it by sliding it ever-so-gently across the smooth floor. Both happened after several attempts at latching, including grabbing some pliers so the bar might stay put. They are going into the trash. I can catch air easily enough without a trap, but I guess it was fun while it lasted. I couldn’t care less about a refund. I’ll consider the price a lesson learned, and cherish my remaining old ones until wild mice are extinct. Anyone know where I can find some more old ones?

Almost all of us grew up eating meat, wearing leather, and going to circuses and zoos. We never considered the impact of these actions on the animals involved. For whatever reason, you are now asking the question: Why should animals have rights? Read more.
AWe do not carry the M210 so we could not tell you what the true difference is between the items, if any. From our research it looks like the M210 is a model number used for ones sold in big box stores like Home Depot so this could be their product code for it. You can contact Victor at 1-800-800-1819 to find out what the differences would be between the two.
Every home I lived in I would purchase an electronic repellent. I did because I am terrified of rats. well I never had a rat in my home or around it from my knowledge but I felt like it was because I’ve always had the repellents plugged in. Well in this new home im in lately I’ve been seeing them run across my privacy gate. I have the plugs all around the house and its not working seeing them on the fence and just tonight actually seen one on the ground. Sorry for the long story but no they do not work!!!!! Plus there’s lizards and other type of little bugs that be by my back door even with the 3 plugs plugged in
Bait the tube. Place a piece of cheese, candy, or bread in the far end of the tube. Ensure it is of sufficient mass to attract a mouse but not so heavy that it will significantly alter the weight of the tube. Do not choose foods which are sticky or gummy; they can be hard to get all the way down the tube.
IT WORKS you have to know how to work it, the first night I just placed the trap in a corner and they moved it, the next day I put the trap under the leg of a small table so they couldn’t move it then added a piece of cookie topped with PEANUT BUTTER in the center as shown in the picture and they were caught happy hunting!

This is done by eliminating the sources of rat food and water from the buildings in question, including fixing leaky indoor and outdoor taps and cleaning up food spills promptly. Storage of both human and pet food should be in containers which the rats cannot easily chew through (metal, ceramic or glass). Food waste should not be tossed on the ground around the structure, garbage cans must be secured. Bird feeder spillage must be cleaned up promptly—bird seed is a prime attractant to rats, particularly in an urban or suburban environment.
Place the can on the floor in an area where the mouse resides. Lay a long ruler or paint stirring stick from the floor to the mouth of the coffee can. If necessary, affix the ruler or stick to the can with tape.
ABoth rat traps are made by Victor and both are very durable and strong. The Victor M326 has a larger bait pedal that resembles cheese (though it can be baited with anything), is easier to set then normal traps, and also has a sensitivity setting that will prevent the trap from snapping due to vibrations in the environment, such as those caused by heavy machinery. The Victor M200 is the traditional wooden rat trap.
I’ve purchased recently Ultrasonic pest repeller from amazon “http://amzn.com/B017IEZIVQ” i am really happy with it, I have a detached garage and we put everything in there as our storage room. I have a contract with pest control monthly and no matter what they do mice still coming back because we stored some dry foods in there like dog foods, dry cereals and etc.I’ve tried everything to get rid of them but they only stop for days and then coming back again. So i knew i need to do something else permanent to get rid of them and this Best Indoor Electronic Plug in Pest Control is doing a great job it does what is supposed to do. We used to have alots of crickets, waterbugs and spider too but now since i plug this pest repeller in my garage i have never seen any sign of them anymore no more mice and no more bugs and insects inside my garage. This repeller has been working really good and im so happy with it.

Battery operated, these so called “rat zappers” have a chamber in which food bait is placed, enticing the rat to enter. One popular model delivers a high voltage (8,500 volts) electric discharge of two minutes duration to ensure a kill. The electric shock rat traps claim a 100% kill rate and the ability to dispatch 50 rats per set of batteries. The electric trap’s enclosed chamber allows for disposal of rat remains without the need to touch the dead animal, it can be dumped directly into a trash receptacle unseen.
We have a couple of cats, only problem is wife feeds them all day long so they will not catch mice/rats. If she isn’t at home for a few days/weeks, I tend to give the cats only a single small meal per day and keep a few outside. Then rats/mice are reduced drastically.
Most trapping efforts fail because too few mouse traps or rat traps are used. You’ll probably need more traps then you think. Set enough Victor traps to kill most of the population before the rodents begin to shy away from the traps. We recommend placing the traps every 2-3 feet along a wall, with the trap placed perpindicular to the wall. Rodents enter a home through holes the size of a dime and run along walls, not over open spaces.
I bought one from Groupon, only 15US$ I just try it today, try to get rid of cockroach, 2 inches big one from my kitchen. I wonder, will it drive it out of the kitchen into my living room? By the way, the using the device as a hammer comment was funny.
Get rid of rats fast with this Victor Electronic Rat Trap. A more humane alternative to traditional snap traps, the Victor Electronic Rat Trap kills rats using a high-voltage shock. The bait placed along the back wall of the trap, lures the rat inside and onto the metal plates. Its advanced smart circuit technology senses the rodent and instantly delivers 7,000 volts of electricity for two minutes, ensuring a permanent kill. The Victor Electronic Rat Trap kills up to 50 rats per set of 4 ‘C’ batteries (not included).
Thanks Stephanie. I was thinking of buying one of these sonic devices to keep snakes away (I have a small cat and live with very large pythons outside) If it’s going to disturb the cat and the dog, then I can’t
Try using a glass bowl as your main catcher. All this trap requires is a few household items and a delicate touch, and you’ll have a super simple, but effective trap on your hands! If you’ve got a really curious rat lurking around, this might be the perfect way to catch him without all the fancy crafting.

Place the trap where you have seen signs of rodent activity or along the wall where rodents primarily travel. The end of the trap where the metal pedal is baited should be placed flush against the wall.
For those interested, I grew up in “Rat City”, South Seattle neighborhood called White Center. My mom would have me put out DeCon(sp?) rat poison under the house, which apparently desiccates the rat quickly, making them drink any liquid they can find. Unfortunately for them, there’s a nice bowl of bleach waiting for them. I can’t count how many rotting stinky rats I have had to crawl under the house and recover. Many times just a pile of maggots.
If you see one, there is usually more. And they don’t leave on their own accord. I reset the trap after 11 o’clock that night – way past my bed time. Checked the next morning and one of his girlfriends couldn’t resist the cheese. Disposed of her and reset. You guessed it, caught another one! Three dead rats.
Also known as “glue boards” or “glue trays,” sticky glue traps are made of pieces of plastic, cardboard, or fiberboard coated with a strong adhesive designed to trap any animal who wanders across or lands on their surface. Glue traps are among the most inhumane devices on the market today.

I have tried electronic zappers without success. Some larger critter(s) must reach in and snatch the bait without getting a fatal charge. And I briefly tried rat poison before realizing that birds and animals eating the poisoned rats were likely to be poisoned to some degree.
The video below shows another bucket trap idea that I found very interesting, however I took the idea from the first picture and mixed it with this idea to come up with one of my own. I am not saying the idea in the video does not work, yet you can hear the person in the audio saying he has yet to actually try the method due to his lack of mice activity.
Place the trap in an enticing position. Place it in areas like along a wall or a high-traffic area near a mouse hole. When the mouse enters the bottle to eat the cheese, pull back on the string looped around the skewer sticking out of the bottle’s bottom. The bottle will snap closed on the mouse, trapping it within.
Q.I have been using your snap traps for 45 years. I just bought another package. I cannot get the snap to lock down or not for long. When it does lock, it goes off in my hand or within seconds of setting it down. What is going on?

Thirty minutes later I flip the light switch on with my neck hair bristled. It looked like a murder scene minus the white chalk outline. Finally, Ratzilla was dead. I’ll spare you the bloody shots. No, this is not the bloody shot below. He measured over 15 inches from nose to tip of the tail.
Rats present a large problem to agriculture; it is estimated that millions of dollars’ worth of food crops are lost annually to their incursions; rat populations are also on the rise in urban areas across the US fuelling fears of the spread of disease. Rat control has become a huge and lucrative industry and the use of rat traps is a major tool in the battle against the rodents.
I’M AMAZED! I have pet chickens and this year I made the coop so cozy the mice moved in…I was horrified at all the activity I was seeing. I bought this because I hate to kill anything and this appeared to be the most humane. For 2 days i didnt use batteries, I only put my chicken feed in it so that the mice would get used to eating from it. Then I activated it with 4 C Duracell batteries, and took a toothpick of almond butter and smeared a little on the bait door. I turned on the Victor M241 and placed it facing where I’ve seen them coming and going and then walked over to my other coop to get some fencing to put around it so the chickens wouldn’t see the dead mouse and try to get to it (yes, chickens are carnivores)…when I came back 10 min later the buzzer was sounding off..i waited for it to stop and the green light started blinking every 5 or 10 seconds indicating a kill. I picked ut up and dumped in the trash. During this time I saw 2 little mice crawling around my big crates that I no longer use but they were eating crumbs and shavings so I put the device in there, closed the crate door and turned the device on again…and watched a little mouse walk right into it. That was #2. I emptied it, put it back in the crate again, turned it back on and closed the coop up for the night. This morning I had 2 more in there. I will add more almond butter bait tonight but until I dont have a kill overnight I’m not cleaning it. I wont use detergent as Ive read it repels them. This has a super fast kill time..just get good batteries like Duracell to ensure that.
Of Mice & men: New York City mice are very hip–they are averse to any type of traps, no matter what type. But it’s important to know that mice come from somewhere, out of a hole, anywhere in apt, especially if NYC apt is old and its caulk re base board is weakened. I’ve had mice
